Orumba North APGA stakeholders reject market leader

APGA - Alleged imposition of the Chairman of South-east market traders association, Chief Ok­wudili Ezenwankwo as the party leader for the council area by the National Chairman of APGA, Chief Victor Oye.

At a stakeholders meeting for the Local Government at Awgbu yes­terday, they described as disheart­ening, the decision of the national chairman to declare Ezenwankwo the leader of APGA in Orumba North during a courtesy call on him.

In a statement by the stakeholders read by the Chairman of Chair­men of the APGA wards in Orum­ba and Chairman of APGA ward 2 Ajalli, Chief Fred Ndubisi Okoli, they rejected Ezenwankwo as their party leader and condemned the act by the national chairman Oye, which they considered as a slight and a move to breed crisis in the party.

The stakeholders, however, said they are in total support of Gover­nor Willie Obiano’s bid for a sec­ond term in office and promised to do everything that would work for his successful return in 2017.

The communique read in part: “We affirm our support for Chief Willie Maduaburochukwu Obi­ano (Akpojudike Global), the Executive Governor of Anambra State and promise to work for his successful return as the Governor of Anambra State, come 2017.

“That the action of the National Chairman has complicated the problems already ravaging and hampering the growth of APGA in Orumba North as the leader­ship position assumed by Ok­wudili Ezenwankwo is already one of the matters to be dealt with by the APGA reconciliation commit­tee, which has already scheduled to visit Orumba North LGA on the 4th of April, 2016.

“That we continue to affirm our unalloyed support to Chief Okey Ezeibe (BOT member), Hon Okey Udeh (BOT member), Hon Romanus Obi (House of As­sembly member) and Hon Okey Enekwe (Chairman Transition Committee, Orumba North) as the authentic leaders of APGA who became leaders by virtue of various key positions they held in the party.

“We cannot accept Okwudili Ez­enwankwo as the leader of the party in our local government as the height of such position can­not be attained by crook”.
